I first met Robert Marx in 1971 when I was encouraged to take his printmaking class at the State University of New York, College at Brockport. It was a life changing experience. At the time I did not know what printmaking was but was immediately fascinated by the intaglio process, the smells and tools in the print studio, the imagery printed from the etching plate, but most of all totally enamored by the teaching and persona of Robert Marx. I immediately changed my major from Psychology to Art and over the next two years took every possible course I could with Robert Marx. Through his various presentations of original prints I became familiar with the work of David Bumbeck, another former student of Robert's. When I graduated from Brockport I went on to study at Pratt Institute for an MFA in Printmaking. To this day I credit Robert Marx as the most influential person in my being an artist. To have been invited by Robert Marx to exhibit with him along with David Bumbeck is truly an honor. Here were my works for this February 2012 exhibition:
